2023 - Elf the Musical
That Christmas, Launceston Musical Society invited audiences to embrace their inner elf in the Tasmanian premiere of Elf – The Musical.
Based on the cherished 2003 New Line Cinema hit, Elf – The Musical followed Buddy on his journey to find his father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh reality that his father was on the naughty list and his half-brother didn’t even believe in Santa, Buddy was determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.
Elf – The Musical featured songs by Tony Award nominees Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin (Disney's Aladdin on Broadway, The Wedding Singer), with a book by Tony Award winners Thomas Meehan (Annie, The Producers, Hairspray) and Bob Martin (The Drowsy Chaperone), and promised fun for the whole family.
It was produced by Launceston Musical Society alongside their Presentation Partner, The Importer, and Production Partner, VJAM.
